Bagpipes
At the age of 8 I began taking weekly lessons with the Saffron Kilts United Pipe band. For nearly a decade I was immersed in competitive pipe bands performing with the New York Metro Pipe Band at the Grade 3 level. When I turned 18 I put away my pipes and fully committed myself to classical guitar.
After studying classical music at the conservatory level for a number of years, I was drawn back to piping. As I grew older I developed a love for Celtic music and began playing my pipes again. In my concert programming I often enjoy blending Celtic music on both the guitar and pipes.
As a performer I am available for various events including funerals and weddings in the Western North Carolina area. I am also available for one-on-one lessons. Learning bagpipes is less of an investment than one may assume, only needing upwards of $50 to invest in a small practice chanter. Switching over to a full set of highland pipes can happen within as little of a year with patience and practice.
