Lessons

One-on-one lessons provides students with the opportunity for preparing them for the journey of lifelong learning.  When working with a student I aspire to give them the tools and resources to set them on that path.  I have experiences working with a diverse pool of students from beginners up until college level and have experience working with students with developmental disabilities.

Student Lesson Testimonials

"Brian is one of those players with such incredible technique that he doesn’t even have to think about his hands when he plays; as a result he is able to put all of his focus on the actual music itself, which is what really separates him from other players. He is always showing me new and creative ways to practice technique in attempt to make it automatic so when I play it feels like my hands have disappeared and the music is coming from inside me."

"Brian helped me to improve my technique by structuring my warmups with targeted exercises. He fully understood the difficulties in any given piece and focused on key areas to make improvement, setting realistic goals and creating an individualized plan for my skill level. In the time I had him as an instructor, I made countless advancements to my playing and most importantly, gained a strong practice philosophy and methodology that I use daily.”

"Brian Dooley has been helping me develop my technical skills on the classical guitar for over 2 years. His approach to teaching emphasizes the development of proper form, technique, tonality, and musicality. He has helped me build a repertoire from various musical periods that I feel confident performing. I highly recommend Brian to anyone looking to unlock their potential as a classical guitarist."

"You helped our daughter more than words can describe.  She always looked forward to your music class with her and interactions with you.  She had a big development curve from the time she spent with you and your class."

Teaching Resume

"Studying with Brian was eye opening experience.  I predominantly played jazz when I started working with Brian and he always tailored the pieces he brought in not only to my ability but to my taste.  It was the perfect balance of someone pushing me but also setting me up for success and giving me pieces that would have some skills that transferred to my jazz work"
